  1. Windows 7 Install Asking For Nvm Express Controller Driver Windows 10
Hello again, I spent several hours trying to get Windows 7 to recognise a driver which you kindly sent to me. Nothing is working so far. This is how I slipstreamed the install.wim and the boot.wim. It appeared to go well, but have no idea if the method is correct.
Downgrade Windows 10 pre-installation to Windows 7 using an NVM SSD
1. Download patches:
KB2990941 (Windows6.1-KB2990941-x64.msu)
KB3087873 (Windows6.1-KB3087873-x64.msu)
2. Make directories:
C:ISOWin7SP1
C:ISOunpacked
C:packages
3. Extract the patches to C:packages
4. Copy all the files from Windows 7 SP1 setup media (ISO/DVD/USB) to C:ISOWin7SP1.
5. Open an elevated command prompt.
Integrating C:ISOWin7SP1sourcesinstall.wim
6. At the elevated command prompt, type the following command:
Dism /Get-WIMInfo /WimFile:C:ISOWin7SP1sourcesinstall.wim
It will show you the indexes of the images contained in the WIM file. Note the edition of Windows 7 for which you have the product key and its appropriate index. Suppose for example, you are using Windows 7 Ultimate.
7. Type the following command to mount the offline Windows image.
Dism /Mount-WIM /WimFile:C:ISOWin7SP1sourcesinstall.wim /Name:'Windows 7 Ultimate' /MountDir:C:ISOunpacked
This command will mount the Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate edition files to the folder C:ISOunpacked. The folder must exist on your system, otherwise correct the path.
8. Type the following command to integrate KB2990941 for Windows 7 64-bit
Dism /Image:C:ISOunpacked /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:packagesWindows6.1-KB2990941-x64.msu
9. Now, type the following command to add the KB3087873 package to the image.
Do it as follows. For 64-bit Windows 7 SP1, execute this command:
Dism /Image:C:ISOunpacked /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:packagesWindows6.1-KB3087873-x64.msu
10. Once this is done, type the following command to commit the changes and unmount the image.
Dism /Unmount-WIM /MountDir:C:ISOunpacked /Commit
Integrating C:ISOWin7SP1sourcesboot.wim
11. At the elevated command prompt, type the following command:
Dism /Get-WIMInfo /WimFile:C:ISOWin7SP1sourcesboot.wim
It will show you the indexes of the images contained in the WIM file. Note the edition of Windows 7 for which you have the product key and its appropriate index.
12. Type the following command to mount the offline Windows image.
Dism /Mount-WIM /WimFile:C:ISOWin7SP1sourcesboot.wim /Index:2 /MountDir:C:ISOunpacked
This command will mount the Windows x64 files to the folder C:ISOunpacked. The folder must exist on your system, otherwise correct the path.
13. Type the following command to integrate KB2990941 for Windows 7 64-bit
Dism /Image:C:ISOunpacked /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:packagesWindows6.1-KB2990941-x64.msu
14. Now, type the following command to add the KB3087873 package to the image.
Do it as follows. For 64-bit Windows 7 SP1, execute this command:
Dism /Image:C:ISOunpacked /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:packagesWindows6.1-KB3087873-x64.msu
15. Once this is done, type the following command to commit the changes and unmount the image.
Dism /Unmount-WIM /MountDir:C:ISOunpacked /Commit
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

You'll need to find the correct storage drivers for this model, but you'll want the 'Standard NVM Express Controller' device driver. I was able to grab this from the HP recovery media generated from the Cloud Recovery process. Update to add native driver support in NVM Express in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 will get the Microsoft NVMe driver. For some reason MS requries clicking on the Hotfix Download Available button, then filling out a form. 2 Responses to Adding USB 3.0 and NVMe Drivers to Windows 7 Install Media. Thankfully, Microsoft has released an update with native drivers for Windows 7 which add NVM Express support. The MSI Smart Tool is fucking awesome. I primarily needed the nvme driver so I could install Windows 7 on my Samsung 960 EVO. Thanks again for your help! MDT 2013 - NVMe m.2 PCIe SSD - Windows 7 Deployment issue! This driver cab would have the latest drivers for the specific model. That might explain why we got luck and it worked straight away). Essentially went through the Dell Guide and had to inject the m.2 driver directly into the Windows 7 installation ISO by mounting it.
